Casey Anthony, Most Hated!

Well, gee, we all knew that. Come on! What I want to know is why her freaking lawyers are treating her like she’s a damn witness that needs to go into hiding. They need to toss the bitch out into the street and let her take her chances. She is definitely getting special treatment.  No other inmate or prisoner anywhere would get that treatment. Heck, even OJ wasn’t whisked away into hiding. He got on with his life and everyone got on with theres. Flitting her about to hither and yon is just going to get people all riled up and make it worse because doubtful she is paying for those trips around the country. Our tax money is flying her around the U.S. Funding her lavish hotel rooms. She should get billed for every ounce of jet fuel she uses up. And all the hotels she’s tucked away in. How much are we paying those security officers anyway?  There’s more security around her…a supposedly innocent person…and I say that lightly…than the President. I feel like standing in a crowd of people chanting give us Barabas. One day she’ll have to come out of hiding ya know. But it will probably be right after a taxpayer funded face change.

Statistics Final

Well, after a grueling hour on the computer, I passed my statistics final with an 80%. I was wondering if they’d be able to put me in any category. I passed my first test with the second highest grade and the second test with the next to lowest grade. I ended up with a 92% in the class. I am just so glad it is over, and I still get to keep my 4.0 average. Hoo-rah! I’m trying to take Government 2 and medical terminology this next semester. The medical terminology will be more of a refresher course. It was actually the very first college class I ever took. So I remember a lot of it because I use it at work. But the college needs me to take it again for some reason. Kinda disappointed that it’s a $350 refresher. But it’s online, how hard could it be? I say that now….

Grades…

I had to laugh when I looked at my grade today in math statistics. I am making a 106.60%. Woohoo. Of course that is all due to a large glitch in the system when the teacher put the test grades in. The test was supposed to be worth 200 points. (200 points and there were only 23 problems how uncool is that!) I made 197/200, but the score for everyone was put in as x/150. X of course being their score on the test. so my score looks like this 197/150 – 131.33%. If only he’d leave it at that. Good padding since I am going to bomb this next test. I did not understand a single blessed concept for these last few chapters. Not a single one. Binomial distribution probabilities, normal distribution curves, ugghh, it’s like the book is speaking a different language. And what’s worse, there will probably be only 20 or so questions on the test which makes them worth mucho points a piece, and it being scantron, it’s not like you can haggle your score. Its a take it or leave it kind of thing. Multiple choice leaves very little room for defense. I’m screwed. I just have to accept that now, not worry about and hope to god I don’t fail the final. Which I can take at home, with all my resources handy. Including my book and all those fabulous little online statistics calculators which make my life so much easier. I mean really. Am I going to need to figure out the probability of a binomial distribution in my lifetime? Probability – 0.

Test

Okay, my first statistics test was today. I studied nearly all weekend for it. Brought my calculator, turned it in…now I won’t know what I made on it for about a week. I personally thought it was pretty easy except that I forgot how to do relative frequencies. Thank goodness there was only one question on relative frequencies on the test and I made an educated guess. Hope it worked out. There were actually a lot of people in the college, although I’m not sure who was taking the statistics test and who was taking something else. It took me about 30 minutes to finish it. So no troubles. I met a girl going in who was taking something else. We were both lost trying to find that stupid testing center. Had to get scantrons from the machine and then didn’t even need them since they were provided. Well, shucks. Don’t tell me to bring a scantron and then provide one for me. That’s 2 bucks wasted when I could have gotten a soda and a candy bar.

It’s Friday, Friday!

Okay, don’t get me started on that song, I’ll have it stuck in my head all night! Well, I’ve written about six papers, six quizzes, and two discussions and it’s just Friday. So far, not too terribly confusing, but I still have no idea how to use my calculator. I had to work extra because I have to work Friday, Sat, and Sun and an assignment and quiz is due on Saturday. I had to do it all this week. Hopefully I will be able to study a little for the test while I’m working, but not if I’m in the ER, which is where they’ve been putting me recently. Oh well, we’ll see. So far, I’ve been making 100%’s on my quizzes, so my grade is 97% so far in the class. My plan is to keep my quizzes high enough so that it cancels out a flub up on the tests. Which is next Tuesday, and then the Tuesday after that. So no worries…although I’m still confused about what a z-score is. Anybody?

Okay, not too terrible…

Not too bad, but very busy. I’ver written two papers today and taken two quizzes. You really have to keep up or you will definitely fall behind. I made 93%’s on the two quizzes, and I’m not going to go back and fix them because I don’t know what I missed. Oh well. It’s an A…for the moment.

Oooh….151st post!

Well, I was just informed that I had posted my 150th post, but unfortunately it was an abysmal 70 words. Hey, short and sweet. What more do you want from me! After a few weeks out of class, I am back in, taking a horrid Math Statistics class. You heard me, I said horrid. No one should have to take this class. I’ve even talked to a number of nurses who never had to take this class, so why am I having to? Because the college I want to go to requires it for their bachelors degree. Not a real big fan of the first day of class, but I did finally get my book in the mail today. That was fast since I ordered it Thursday evening. (Today’s Tuesday morning if you didn’t know.) So anyway, we have to take a quiz over orientation and the syllabus so that we actually read how the class is supposed to go. My first go round, I made a 73% WTH! I had printed the quiz out ahead of time and so went back to comb through the answers and the syllabus to see what I could have possibly done wrong! Oh gee, that’s so nice of the teacher. On the quiz, when he mentions his phone number and email address, they are both off by one digit and letter. What a trickster. Seems you have to pay extra attention. So I fixed that one, changed another and made a 65%. WHAT!??? Bloody hell! What in the world am I doing wrong! I can’t start out my class with a 65% for a quiz grade and I only have one more shot to take the quiz. I have a sneaky suspicion that it is one particular question, the question about test days. The teacher has them scheduled for Tuesdays. But the orientation and syllabus says you can take them onMonday or Tuesday. I had originally said Tuesday but changed the answer to Monday or Tuesday. but I only have one more shot at this, so I emailed the teacher. I asked him what gives and he says that I missed just that one question, but it was worth a lot of points and basically too bad so sad. I emailed him again with the fine print tucked away in cut and paste. If we are being quizzed over what we read in the syllabus and orientation, then writing Monday and Tuesday for that question is appropriate. If not, he needs to change the fine print. He finally agreed and gave me my points back, so I made a 100%. Damn skippy! This is telling me that I am going to have issues with this teacher. I have to prove to him my point before he gives me the score. Greeeaaattt! But can I haggle or what. There was just no way I was going to get a failing grade on an orientation quiz!
